Sports festival

CHENNAI: The annual Buck Memorial Sports Festival of the YMCA College of Physical Education will be held from August 18 to 21. The event, open for schools and colleges, will include athletics.

Entries close on August 5 with the Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Sheila Stephen, YMCA College of Physical Education, ph: 044-24344816 or 9841294776.

Volleyball tournament

The State school volleyball championship will be held at the Kalasalingam University, Virudhunagar district, from August 16. Entries can be sent to the Tamil Nadu State Volleyball Association. Contact A.J. Martin Sudhakar for details.

Hockey tournament

Winning XI Hockey Club will conduct its 16th D.S. Rajamanickam Firozali Shroff M. Danaraj Trophy State-level tournament at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium from August 1 to 6. Seventeen teams, including defending champion Madurai, are expected to participate.
