Withdraw order on remedial teaching, Government urged
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka State High School Assistant Masters’ Association has appealed to the State Government to withdraw the order on remedial teaching programme for Classes VIII and IX.
Addressing presspersons here on Friday, association president C. Shankarappa said the Government should instead conduct educational programmes during school hours, as students are too tired by the end of the day to attend more classes. He said that teachers were being victimised by department officials using remedial teaching as an excuse and that they [teachers] should be given a free had to work in peace.
Pay commission
Speaking on the report of the Fifth Pay Commission, he urged the Government to set right the anomalies in it for high school teachers. Mr. Shankarappa said that teachers would begin an indefinite agitation if the demands were not met in 15 days.
