This Day That Age
Mrs. Durgabai Deshmukh, Chairman of the Central Social Welfare Board, said in Madras on August 1 that women’s education was a matter which had to be given the best consideration, as more educated women were needed to meet the Plan requirements in different parts of the country. Mrs. Deshmukh, who is also the Chairman of the National Committee on Women’s Education was presiding over the second meeting of the Committee. The cause required good propaganda and wide publicity and she appealed to the press to give it their best support.
