‘Kalavu’ on August 4

BANGALORE: Rangasampada – A Theatre Repertory with 27 popular productions, including Odalala, Hejjegalu, and Swargastha, will stage its new production Kalavu on August 4 and 5 at the Ravindra Kalakshetra here.

Rangasampada secretary V.M. Nagesh told presspersons here on Thursday that 26 artistes, including popular cine and stage artistes Umashri and Sundarashree, would stage two-hour play. “The drama tries to convey through a symbolic theft of a buffalo as to how several things in the modern age are stolen by people, collectively or individually,” Mr. Nagesh said.

The play is written by K.Y. Narayanaswamy and directed by Pramod Shiggao.

Music by Janni Mysore and Siddarama Kesapura. Artistes Umashri and Sundarashree spoke.

Tickets priced at Rs. 30 and Rs. 50.
