Sub-inspector of police caught

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police arrested a sub-inspector of police from Belgaum for allegedly accepting Rs. 6,000 in cash for filing a report about a crime.
According to a press release, Veerappa Basappa Hondad, working as Sub-Inspector of Police in Savadatti police station, allegedly demanded Rs. 6,000 from Jaisingh A. Rajput for filing a “B” report. The “B” report is a statement filed by the police to state that there is no case against a person accused of a crime.
On a complaint, Lokayukta police caught Hondad while he was allegedly accepting the bribe on Thursday. A case has been registered against Hondad under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
