Film screening

MALAPPURAM: The Rasmi Film Society here will launch its 33rd anniversary celebrations by screening Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Naalu Pennungal’ on Sunday. The film, based on Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai’s four short stories, will be screened at 9.30 a.m. at Anand Theatre. Malappuram Municipal Chairman Kiliyamannil Yakoob will inaugurate the screening. The Rasmi Film Society president Manamboor Rajanbabu will preside over the function.Mr. Rajanbabu said that the film would be screened as part of an effort to honour not only the late novelist Thakazhi, but also Malayalam literature. The screening will be free.
