PALAKKAD: The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation has procured 58,815 tonnes of paddy from 12,773 farmers in the district during the second crop as against the 57,141 tonnes of paddy procured in the first crop. While the procurement has increased in the taluks of Alathur (15,535 tonnes); Palakkad (16,464 tonnes) and Ottapalam (592 tonnes), in Chittur the procurement declined to 26,222 tonnes this time from the previous crop (28,661 tonnes). —Staff Reporter
