Chiranjeevi not a politician: ex-MP

Kakinada: Former IAS officer and MP K.S.R Murthy said actor Chiranjeevi was a ‘statesman’ committed to people’s welfare but not a politician.

His party would transform Andhra Pradesh into a ‘unique state’ with equitable distribution of wealth, unlike the Congress and TDP which failed to achieve real development. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Murthy, who has recently joined the new political outfit, said Chiranjeevi was forming the party on the basis of his social services and his fans would become the people’s servants. Internal democracy was the party’s mainstay as only then could the goals be achieved. Most of the problems confronted by the people would be solved in five years and the subsequent five years were certain to change both the political and social landscapes. Welfare of weaker sections was on top of Chiranjeevi party’s agenda and he would do whatever was required to remove economic disparities. The actor has the will and planned ways to achieve the desired results.
