Math teachers honoured

CHENNAI: The best teacher award was conferred on a mathematics teacher, and three other teachers were honoured for their presentation, at a workshop organised by the Srinivasa Ramanujan Academy of Maths Talent here on Saturday.
The best teacher award went to K. Meenakshi Krishnan of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kilpauk. It carries a certificate, memento and cash prize of Rs.1,000.
The best paper awards went to Shanthi Rama Rao of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, K.K.Nagar, Chennai; Suganthi Rachael Selvam of BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi; and S. Anipriya of St. John’s International Residential School, Palanjur.
More than 40 graduate teachers from various parts of the State attended the workshop that dealt with middle-school mathematics.
V. Devanathan former Professor and Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics, University of Madras; K. Srinivasa Rao, former Professor Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Taramani; and A. Ravi, Dean, Sciences, Arupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Kelambakkam, took part in the workshop.
