Congress MP sees ‘Chiru wave’ in A.P.
Staff Reporter
ELURU: Congress MP Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah on Saturday said he saw a ‘Chiru wave’ blowing across Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Jogaiah, who was here to attend a District Review Committee meeting, claimed that the wave would ultimately help megastar Chiranjeevi form a government with not less than 200 seats in the coming Assembly elections.
“The current wave is as massive as the one that catapulted N.T. Rama Rao’s fledgling TDP to power in 1983,” he observed.
The enthusiasm among youth and appeals from apolitical sections favouring Mr. Chiranjeevi’s entry into politics clearly reinforced his predictions, he said.
