JAIPUR: The Rajasthan government has procured a record 9.35 lakh tonnes of wheat during the current financial year. The procurement is stated to be the highest so far in the desert State. State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari said here on Saturday that a payment of Rs.935.28 crore had been made to the farmers at the rate of Rs.1,000 per quintal. The wheat has been stored in the Central pool of the Food Corporation of India. The Minister said the State government would supply wheat from the Central pool to the beneficiaries of Antyodaya and Annapoorna schemes for the poor as well as the families living below and above poverty line.
