NEW DELHI: Global software giant Oracle, that recently completed acquisition of BEA Systems Inc., a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, has started the merger of India development centres of both the companies. The company has also decided to expand its presence in key industries, including government, education and healthcare, financial services industry, manufacturing, retail, communication and media segments. In an e-mail interview to The Hindu, Oracle’s Vice-President (Product Management, Server Technologies Division) Amit Zavery said Oracle’s engineers had started merging the BEA development centre with the Oracle India development centre in Bangalore. Areas of applications“After the acquisition, in India our number of customers will be over 7,000 using Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware (including BEA Systems) and Oracle applications across financial services, communications, government and public sector, manufacturing and retail segments,” Mr. Amit Zavery said. Pointing out that India and China were among the fastest growing markets for Oracle in the Asia Pacific region, Mr. Zavery said: “there will be no technology overlap among Indian customers.”
