Al Ameen prevails over Surana College

BANGALORE: Al Ameen College ‘B’ prevailed over Surana College 2-1 in the KSHA inter-collegiate hockey tournament here on Saturday.

In another match, Jain College ‘B’ defeated St. Joseph’s College of Arts and Science 6-3 via tie-breaker after the two teams were tied 2-2 at the end of full time.

In the event for schools, ASC Public School blanked SJBHS 12-0 and SJIHS beat FAPS 4-0.

Easy for St. Joseph’s

St. Joseph’s Indian High School notched up an easy 4-1 victory over Cathedral High School in the Allan Macbride memorial inter-school hockey tournament for boys here on Saturday.

In the girls’ tournament for Tanvi Rao memorial trophy, St. Francis Xavier High School drew with St. Euphrasias High School ‘B’ 1-1 while St. Euphrasias ‘A’ defeated St. John’s HS 6-0.

Poorna advances

Poorna Pragna prevailed over VET 25-17, 24-26, 15-10 to advance in the High School girls’ section of the Spikers Youth SC conducted 24th State-level inter-school volleyball tournament at the Corporation ground, Jayanagar here on Saturday.

The results: Boys: Primary School: MSS bt Gurukul 25-11, 25-22; Carmel bt Brightway 25-23, 25-12; Royal bt Holy Saint 25-21, 25-9; NET bt BGS 25-10, 25-11; Shantinikethan bt SRV 25-8, 25-10.

High School: Holy Saint bt New Horizon 25-15, 25-14; Green Valley bt GHS 25-17, 25-13; Webster bt Vidyanjali 25-15, 25-21; New Horizon bt PTA 25-5, 25-6; BHS (RV Road) bt VET 25-11, 25-21; Shantinikethan bt St. Joseph’s 25-13, 25-8; MSS bt RV 25-3, 25-2.

SAI hockey

All-India SAI inter-regional hockey championship will be held at the KSHA Stadium, Bangalore, between August.4 and 9. SAI teams representing the East Zone, West Zone, South Zone, North Zone, North East Zone, Central Zone besides Army Boys Sports Company will participate in the championship
