Yeddyurappa’s promise to educationists

BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has assured educationists that the Government will look into their demand for simplifying laws to enable educational institutions to acquire land.

He was speaking here recently at a function organised by PES Institutions to felicitate M.R. Doreswamy on being nominated MLC.

His assurance came after Mr. Doreswamy raised the issue of the problems pertaining to land acquisition by educational institutions.

Mr. Doreswamy said that the process of land acquisition by educational institutions in States such as Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were simpler compared to Karnataka.

Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology Katta Subramanya Naidu spoke.
