Suman of HCA President’s XI hogged the limelight in different matches to guide their teams to emphatic wins in the first round of the Coromandel King all-India Invitation Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament here on Saturday. The scores: Hyderabad XI 325 in 89.4 overs bt Goa 256 in 75.5 overs (Shadab Jakati 55 n.o., Vishal Sharma four for 67); Madhya Pradesh 243 in 70.4 overs lost to HCA President’s XI 244 for three in 71.1 overs (T. Suman 101, Danny Derek Prince 43 n.o.); Saurashtra 269 in 76.3 overs lost to Uttar Pradesh 275 for four in 68.5 overs (Ansul Kapoor 96, Md. Kaif 135 n.o.); Kerala 118 in 47.4 overs drew with Punjab 62 for one in 20 overs). Second day’s play was washed out.
