Painting competition held

PUDUCHERRY: The Pondicherry State Artists Society conducted a painting competition for students from various government and private schools on Sunday.

The competition, titled “Golden Era of Puducherry,” was held as part of the birthday celebrations of Chief Minister N. Rangasamy. Students from class I to XII took part in the competition.

The students had to sketch drawings based on the schemes brought in by Chief Minister such as free rice scheme, noon meal scheme, distribution of cycles, provision of financial assistance to students and free bus pass in the chart provided to them.

All participants received certificates from the society. Around 190 students participated in the competition.
