Fun-filled August at Alliance Francaise

PUDUCHERRY: Scores of events, loads of fun and fiesta will mark the month of August at Alliance Francaise, Pondicherry. A painting exhibition, screening of movies and a music festival are part of the month’s itinerary.

Alliance Francaise, Pondicherry in collaboration with the Departments of Art and Culture, Tourism presents “Fete de la musique de Pondicherry” on August 16.

Aided by the Embassy of France in India and the French Consulate in Pondicherry, the music festival will present rock, Tamil folk and jazz fusion.

Water colour paintings of Eby N. Joseph, an artist from Kerala, would be on from August 1 to 10 at the gallery.

The library of Alliance Francaise would be inaugurated on August 9.

On the occasion, K.P. Ramannuni, a Malayalam author, would present his first novel which was recently translated into French.

Sunday movies would be fun-filled at Alliance with the screening of five films of actress Juliette Binoche.

On August 13 and 27, a documentary on the legendary band, Buena Vista Social Club and a fiction Carnet de Voyage based on the diary of Ernesto Che Guevara would be screened at Maison Colombani at 7 p.m.
