42.68 cr sanctioned for rural roads: Botcha

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana said Rs. 42.68 crores under the Prime Minister Grameena Sadak Yojana was sanctioned for development of 39 roads in rural areas in the district.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Satyanarayana said tenders for the same would be invited in 20 days and the works completed in five or six months. He said the government had also sanctioned an ashram school for Backward Classes and it would begin functioning from this year itself.
Allaying fears of TDP leaders on new Thotapalli channel to Gajapathinagaram and Dattirajeru mandals, the Minister said the government was bent on providing irrigation facilities to farmers and added that it would not affect farmers in Cheepurupalli, Gurla and Garividi mandals.
He said Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who would be arriving at Parvathipuram on August 5, would participate in Rajiv Arogya Sri mega medical camp and address a public meeting in the evening.
G. Srinivasulu Naidu, MLC, was also present at the press conference.
