CUDDALORE: The Consumer Guild of Tamil Nadu has appealed to the Centre to incorporate certain changes in the Consumer Protection Act 1986 to lessen the inconvenience caused to people. In a representation to the government, C.D.Appavu, secretary of the Guild, said that the clause on payment of fees that ranged from Rs. 100 to Rs. 500, depending upon the size of compensation claimed, should be dispensed with.
