BANGALORE: The Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samithi has welcomed the Government’s decision to withdraw its proposal to issue licences to new liquor shops. Addressing presspersons, State unit president of KDSS N. Murthy said that the samiti had fought with the Government to drop this proposal. He lauded the Government’s decision to stop loadshedding and provide free electricity to farmers using 10 HP pumpsets. Referring to the recent bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, he said the State and Union Governments should take stern steps to deal with culprits. — Staff Reporter
