MANGALORE: Congress leaders at a party convention here accused the State Government of failure to effectively control the spread of chikungunya in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. M. Veerappa Moily, chairman, Administrative Reforms Commission, alleged that the government did not conduct a proper survey to know the number of people affected by the disease. As a result, it failed to take proper precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease. B. Janardhana Poojary, former MP, took Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa to task for not visiting the homes of people affected by the disease.
