Mobile phones recovered from Siwan Jail

PATNA: A massive raid in the Siwan Jail on Sunday led to the recovery of as many as 37 mobile phones, including seven from the ward where RJD MP Md. Shahbuddin, is lodged.
District magistrate Vandana Preyasi and SP Umesh Kumar together conducted a raid in the wake of a tiff that Mr. Shahbuddin had with the jail authorities on Saturday.
The raid which started at 4.30 a.m. took the inmates by surprise and lasted almost four hours.
Cases filed
The jail authorities have since filed cases against eight persons including Mr. Shahbuddin for allegedly assaulting the wardens. Besides the mobile phones, the raiding team seized 10 sim cards, seven cell batteries, 17 mobile chargers and 11 daggers.
