Major achievement for Rajasthan power project

JAIPUR: A major milestone of boiler light-up in the first unit of Chhabra thermal power project in Rajasthan is likely to be achieved by this month-end, while the construction of second unit is in progress. The two units are of the capacity of 250 MW each.

Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Chairman and Managing Director S.K. Kalla, taking stock of the progress of work during his visit to the power house on Saturday, said the structural erection work of main building was in an advanced stage.

Mr. Kalla said 75 per cent of the work of erection of boiler structure and 99 per cent of boiler pressure part in the first unit had been completed. Similarly, a significant progress has been made in the works for the second unit, while the installation of chimney, cooling tower and pump house would be completed shortly.
