A launch that sizzled

One of the equipment of Weber-Stephen Products Co. launched in Bangalore.

Bangalore: Weber-Stephen Products Co., one of the leading manufacturers of charcoal and gas grills and grilling accessories, launched its products in India with a barbeque evening at the Royal Orchid Hotel here.

The guests were treated to a host of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetisers cooked by chef Marco on Weber grills.

Talking about the distinctness of the Weber grilling products, Shivakumar, Managing Director, Great Indian Leisure and Lifestyle Company (GRILLCO) said, “Grilling equipment is available in India, but it is in the unorganised market. We are planning to bring a branded and quality experience in grilling to our Indian customers.”

Weber grills contain a host of features that enhance functionality and are designed to cook and grill in all kinds of weather.

Some of the special features of the grills include a stainless steel burner system, glass-reinforced and maintenance free nylon handles, no-rust aluminium vent and a removable ash catcher.

The Weber Range in India includes gas and charcoal grills with the price ranging from Rs. 7,000 for a basic charcoal model and Rs. 15,000 for a basic gas model to Rs. 1,15,000 for a top-of-the-line gas grill called the Genesis 310 Gas Grill.

The idea behind bringing the Weber grill to India is to give Indian consumers a quality grilling experience.

Shivakumar said: “We have chosen Bangalore as the launch location because of the city’s cosmopolitan outlook and love for good food. We will expand our presence to other cities in India in a phased manner.”
