Andhra Pradesh
The roads in Ayodhya Nagar are in a bad shape. The staff of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation dug them up long back for laying of pipes for the underground drainage. After repeated requests, the road was re-carpeted recently. However, the road got damaged within no time and the problems of the residents began afresh. It is very difficult to drive a car or even to ride a motorcycle on these roads. Since the underground drainage works are completed, the civic authorities are requested to focus on laying permanent road in this area. There is a need to give top priority to this issue, as people had been suffering inconvenience for a long time. R. Ravi Ayodhya Nagar, Vijayawada Supply kerosene to card-holdersSupply of kerosene through fair price shops is a boon to the poor people. After supplying cooking gas cylinders under the ‘Deepam’ scheme, the Government began to impose restrictions on the supply of kerosene to the ration card holders. Due to the scarcity for cooking gas, the agencies are taking long time to deliver the refill cylinder, forcing the consumers to switch over to other means of fuel temporarily. Regular supply of kerosene to those who have white ration cards and cooking gas connection with single cylinder is of great use to the poor people, particularly those who are residing in urban areas. M. Chaitanya Gandhi Nagar, Vijayawada Check illegal parkingThe Pantakaluva road in Patamata was re-carpeted about a year ago and the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is operating city buses on this road. The problem is major part of the road is being occupied by heavy vehicles like lorries and private buses, which are being parked on the road for most of the day. As a result, people travelling on this road are facing several difficulties. None of the Government departments seem to bother about this issue, as the practice of parking heavy vehicles is continuing here for a long time. I request the officials concerned to look into the issue. B.V. Prasad New Postal Colony, Vijayawada Display provisions of Public Health ActNowadays, people are depending more on eateries and tea stalls for snacks. But, most of these stalls are not following the guidelines issued by the Public Health Department. Sanitation is not being maintained in many eateries and the drinking water being supplied to customers is not pure. It will be of great use to people if the officials take steps to display the provisions of Public Health Act at all eateries and tea stalls. People can question the owners of the stalls whenever there was a supply of unhygienic food and water. B. Ramakrishna Rao Chemmanagiripet, Machilipatnam
