Demands that administration bring out White Paper on it NEW DELHI: The Students’ Federation of India has claimed that the admission process at Jawaharlal Nehru University has not been “transparent” this time round and demanded that the administration bring out a White Paper on it. “There has been no clarity on how different changes have been brought about in the criteria for admissions at JNU,” alleged SFI activist and former students’ union president Dhananjay Tripathi. One of the SFI grouse is against alleged non-fulfilment of quota for the physically handicapped students. “Ensuring three per cent quota for the physically handicapped is constitutionally binding on every educational institution. This reservation is not being executed properly at JNU,” claimed Dhananjay. However, JNU Rector-II Ramadhikari Kumar denied there was any violation and maintained that the administration had reserved three per cent of the total intake in each course for the differently-abled. The SFI has also raised the issue of implementation of 12 per cent quota for the Other Backward Classes. “There is confusion over the actual reservation that has been provided to the OBC students this year. There is no consistency in the lists of the selected candidates put up at different centres.,” alleged Roshan Kishore, secretary of the SFI-JNU unit.
