CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government on Monday cancelled a Teej festival function, scheduled to be held at Raj Bhawan here, in view of the tragedy at Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday that resulted in the death of many people, including 32 from Haryana. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced an ex-gratia of Rs.1 lakh for the next of kin of each of the 32 pilgrims. Mourning the tragic loss of lives in the stampede, the Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Punjab Governor S.F. Rodrigues also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives.
