KOLAR: Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India and Students Federation of India staged a road blockade at the KSRTC bus-stand Circle here on Tuesday to register their protest against the alleged ‘brutal’ lathicharge by police on DYFI and CPI (M) activists at Mangalore on Monday. The protesters urged the suspension of police personnel responsible for the ‘atrocity’ on the peaceful demonstrators, which included women and senior citizens, when they were protesting the reported move of Mangalore CMC to privatise water supply service. DYFI leader N.N. Sriram and SFI leader R. Meenakshi submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
