TUMKUR: A man and his wife drowned in a pond in Kattenahalli in Tumkur district on Tuesday. Jagadhish (26), a farmer, had taken his cow to the pond to give it a wash. His wife, Shakuntala (22), who accompanied him, saw the cow dragging him into the pond, and rushed to rescue her husband. Both drowned, even as the cow swam to safety. — Staff Correspondent
