Kuala Lumpur: Five Indian nationals, including a woman, were arrested on Monday for “overstaying.” Immigration official Maman Budiman said the five were taken into custody from a hotel in Jayapura, the capital of Papuan province. An investigation found that their visas had expired a month ago. They were identified as Abdul Kahar, Muhammad Jahangir, Muhammed Raffek, Sharfana Sharfuddin and Mavila Kadapurram. They had been staying in Jayapura for about two weeks and planned to go to the tourist resort of Wamena to see snow, Indonesian news agency Antara reported. They are now lodged in a detention cell of the immigration office in Jayapura, Mr. Budiman said. — PTI
