BIDAR: S. Vidyashankar, retired director of the Institute of Kannada Studies, Bangalore University, on Tuesday said that working for the development of Kannadigas living in border areas of the State would be his priority if he was elected president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat. The elections will be held on August 24. Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Vidyashankar said his manifesto included building a harmonious relationship with the State Government; bringing transparency in parishat administration; achieving self-reliance; and initiating measures for simple conduct of Kannada sahitya sammelans .
