Efforts on to settle FDA claims

Kakinada: The Forest Department has received 589 claims to 3,330.54 hectares under the Forest Dwellers Act (FDA), 2006.

Efforts are on to settle the claims to give tribal communities that are enjoying the lands. A district-level committee, which is examining the claims, constituted 134 forest regulatory committees in as many villages to facilitate implementation of the FDA, Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi said at a meeting of the district committee here.
