Woman kills daughter, hangs herself

VILLUPURAM: Radha (25), wife of Sivaraj of V. Marudur near hear, allegedly smothered her twin daughters Hema Sudha (6) and Hema Latha (6) with pillows following a quarrel with her mother-in-law, at their residence on Monday. Hema Sudha died and Hema Latha lost consciousness.

Believing that both the girls had died, Radha hanged herself. However, Hema Latha survived and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The police have booked cases under Sections 307 (murder), 302 (murder attempt) and 174 (committing suicide) of the IPC.
