PUDUCHERRY: The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) on Tuesday demanded action against the private medical colleges that had failed to earmark 50 per cent of the seats for the government quota for candidates selected through the Centralised Admission Committee Leader of the PMK in Parliament M. Ramadass, who led a protest demonstration near the Assembly complex here, urged the government to promulgate an ordinance to ensure that managements of seven private medical colleges allotted 450 seats out of a total of 900 seats to the government quota. If the managements did not cooperate with the government, supply of water and electricity to these colleges should be stopped, he said. The PMK would intensify its agitation if the government did not take action against the “erring medical colleges,” he said.
