Sacked Assam Minister gets bail
New Delhi: A special court here on Tuesday granted bail to sacked Assam Education Minister Ripun Borah and two others, accused of offering a bribe of Rs. 17 lakh to a CBI official to “negotiate” the outcome of a murder case in which he himself is a suspect.
Additional Sessions Judge R.K. Yadav ordered release of Mr. Borah and co-accused Ramesh Kumar Maheshwari and Assam-based journalist Mukul Pathak on bail and asked them to furnish a personal and surety bond of Rs. 3 lakh each as a precondition.
The court asked them not to leave the country without its permission . — PTI
