Third front will be a non-starter: Sushma

Sushanta Talukdar

Bi-polar politics will dominate next general election, she says

Campaign will highlight the “corruption and misrule” of UPA government

If NDA comes to power, it will renegotiate nuclear deal

Agartala: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday said the third front was a non-starter and it would vanish before it even took off.

Ms. Swaraj, who was here to launch the “expose UPA campaign” and a BJP march to the Tripura secretariat against the Left Front government, said bi-polar politics would dominate the next general election and the “third front” of the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Left parties would make no headway.

Addressing a BJP rally, she said the country-wide campaign would highlight the “corruption and misrule” of the UPA government.

On the cash-for-vote controversy, she said the three BJP MPs would place the evidence before the parliamentary committee.

If the National Democratic Alliance government came to power in the next election, it would renegotiate the India-U.S. nuclear deal.

Ms. Swaraj said the Left parties could not escape responsibility for the “misrule” of the UPA government, price rise and inflation and “deterioration in internal security.”

The BJP leader accused the Left Front government in Tripura of being soft on terrorists and in failing to control spiralling prices.
