Governor’s appeal
Shujaat Bukhari
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra on Tuesday termed the situation in the State, especially in Jammu, as worrying and renewed his appeal to the people and political parties to help the administration restore normality.
He told The Hindu that he had asked the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti to visit the shrine site and see for themselves what was needed. “Let us see what facilities we need and how much land is needed for the yatra period,” he said. To find an amicable solution to the controversy, it was important to continue the dialogue.
He hoped that leaders of various political groups and socio-cultural organisations would play a more active role in defusing the situation.
