Rs. 36 lakh looted from car Crime notes

BANGALORE: Striking with impunity, miscreants stopped a car and looted Rs. 36 lakh cash in broad daylight on the busy Hosur Road after attacking the occupants here on Monday.

According to police, the car was transporting cash from the head office of a garment company in the city to the factory. The amount was meant for disbursement of salary of the employees.

As the car reached Kudlu Gate, a motorcycle rider rammed the car and picked up a quarrel with the driver. Soon, he was joined by five more persons riding motorcycles. The miscreants reportedly hit the occupants of the car with sticks before decamping with the cash. The Parappana Agrahara Police have registered a case.

Accidents

An engineer, was killed on the spot when a BMTC bus knocked down his two-wheeler in City Market Traffic limits on Tuesday morning. The police gave the name of the deceased as Shiva Kumar (40), while his wife Manjula received injuries. The couple was said to be on the way to attend a housewarming ceremony.

An MBA student died on the spot while his friend received serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling rammed a stationary truck on Mysore Road in Byatarayanapura Traffic limits on Monday night. Police gave the name of the deceased as Akash (24), a native of Delhi, and the injured as Arati (24). The incident occurred near Kengeri Check post.

Robbed

Two miscreants waylaid Yadu Kumar, an employee of a private firm, and robbed him of Rs. 10,000 cash, a gold chain and a gold ring in Mahadevapura police station limits on Monday night. The incident occurred when the Kumar was walking home at around 10.45 p.m. in Seetharamapalya.
