Diabetologist conferred FRCP

V. Balaji

CHENNAI: Chennai-based diabetologist V. Balaji has been conferred the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow. He has been invited to participate in the admission function to be held in September or November.

In a release, Dr. Balaji stated that he was one of the youngest to receive this honour in view of extensive research in the field of diabetes. Dr. Balaji, who was given the Dr. J.C. Patel and Dr. B.C. Mehta National Award in 2004 for ‘best paper’ under the category of original research articles, has also been invited to deliver the 2009 Hoechst Senior Lectureship Oration on Diabetes by the Association of Physicians of India.
