Prakash progresses

NEW DELHI: Second-seeded Prakash Amritraj got over a spirited resistance from Jae Sung An in straight sets to enter the second round of the ATP Challenger tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex here on Tuesday.

Amritraj conquered his Korean opponent 7-6, 6-4.

After the first set saw the players holding on to their service with some power-packed play, the fare lit up in the second set, thanks to some enterprise by Amritraj

Amritraj was quick to take a 3-0 lead but the Korean was not the one to give up and he nullified all the good work by the Indian. Amritraj produced some good volleys and covered the court well to finally nail Sung An.
