‘Probe misuse of funds’

DAVANGERE: A large number of farmers and agricultural workers staged a dharna in front of the zilla panchayat office here on Wednesday, demanding a probe into the alleged irregularities in the implementation of projects under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Chennagiri taluk.

The agitators alleged that huge sums had been siphoned off in the guise of providing employment to farmers. They submitted a memorandum to the chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat in this regard.
