BANGALORE: A shop keeper of Bangalore, who is alleged to have received funds on behalf of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) network in Karnataka, on Tuesday petitioned the Karnataka High Court for bail. The petitioner, Chand Pasha, said he had a garment shop in Shivajinagar and the police arrested him alleging that he was part of the LeT network in Karnataka. He said the police had also arrested Abdul Rehaman and others and he was arrested on the charges of receiving money (on behalf of the LeT) from Saudi Arabia. He said cases against him and seven others were booked under section various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Explosives Act, the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. He said a charge sheet was filed in the 7th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court, Bangalore, in which he is shown as the seventh accused. The charge sheet and affidavit (by the Public Prosecutor) shows that the LeT had planned to blast temples, dargahs, vital installations, important scientific institutions, research and development centres and the Alamatti dam. The affidavit says Pasha received money twice from Saudi Arabia to be distributed to the LeT.
