Congress plans to ‘expose’ KCR
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: A 33-page booklet printed by the Telugu Desam Party aimed at exposing Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on the eve of the 2004 general elections has now come in handy for the Congress.
Amid talk of a grand alliance comprising the TDP, TRS, BSP and the Left parties, the booklet “Power – KCR’s goal: Splitting the State – his path,” the Congress is planning to use it as a weapon to pit the two parties against one another. The booklet extensively quotes media reports between 1997 and 2000 when Mr. Rao, who was a Minister in the Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet praised the TDP. It then gives a graphic account of Mr. Rao’s statements critical of the TDP after he quit the party and floated the TRS.
