Burst in pipeline

Coimbatore: A burst in the Pilloor main pipeline supplying water to the eastern part of Coimbatore City and a number of wayside habitations resulted in the disruption in water supply.
According to officials, the pipeline burst was reported around 7.30 a.m. near the Velliangadu water treatment plant.
With the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) officials attending to the burst, it is expected that pumping of the water from the reservoir and the treatment plant was expected to commence by Thursday night and the City is expected to get water supply by Friday morning.
Officials were confident of resuming the supply to households latest by Friday afternoon.
