TIRUCHI: Directorate of Government Examinations will conduct a talent test for students of standard IX from rural schools on September 21. Fifty boys and 50 girls from each district would be selected through the examination for the award of an annual scholarship of Rs.1,000 till Plus 2. Students with at least 50 per cent marks in standard VIII and currently studying standard IX in government recognised schools in rural areas are eligible to apply for the exam. Income limitThe annual income of their parents should not be more than Rs.12,000 and applicants have to submit an income certificate. Not eligibleStudents of Anglo-Indian and matriculation schools and those from schools located in municipal/corporation limits are not eligible to appear, according to a press release from R.Chandrasekaran, Regional Deputy Director of Government Examinations. Candidates should apply through their school headmasters along with the certificate and Rs.10 in cash towards exam and service charge. Last date is August 14The applications should be forwarded to the respective Chief Educational Officer before August 14, the release added.
