Fillip to dairy industry
Staff Reporter
Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi has announced that 14 bulk milk cooling centres, each having 5,000 litres capacity, will be set up to give a fillip to the dairy industry in the district.
“Two of them are already functioning in Kadiam and Rampachodavaram,” he said at a review meeting on Thursday. The cooling centres would have 400 to 500 collection points.
Interviews
The Collector instructed officials to submit a report on land required for the 12 cooling centres so that work could be taken up at the earliest.
Mr. Dwivedi said interviews would be held on August 11 to make appointments in the cooling centres.
Eligibility
Graduates having experience in the dairy sector would be given preference. Interviews for those seeking jobs at the milk collection points would be held on August 13.
The minimum educational qualification for this is Intermediate.
All facilities available in any dairy unit would be provided to those selected for jobs in the cooling centres, the Collector added.
DRDA Project Director Ch. Kumara Swami and Animal Husbandry joint director T. Reddy were among those present.
