BERHAMPUR: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday had a hard time while trying to trap a junior clerk of labour office. He allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,000 to process files for labour licence of a person, who had informed it to Vigilance Department. As per the plan, the clerk accepted the phenolphthalein coated notes from the man. The vigilance sleuth raided the spot immediately and could find traces of phenolphthalein on his palm through chemical tests. But they could not locate the money despite long search till evening. The clerk had managed to make the bribe money vanish.
