Sales tax raids on

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tax evading traders had the government after them for the fourth day in succession on Thursday.

Sales tax squads raided 31 marble and granite showrooms in the State during the day, unearthing unaccounted stock worth more than Rs.8.17 crore, Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said.

Tax and penalty on this would come to Rs.1.20 crore and Rs.2.40 crore respectively. The squads served assessment notices on the traders.
