VISAKHAPATNAM: A group of rural women, in their colourful traditional attire, going to the temple and a series of seven paintings depicting lovers in various moods are the highlights of the works of noted artist Ramchand on display at Trishnaa, the art gallery, at P.M. Palem opposite the International Cricket Stadium near Madhurawada.
3D effect
A unique feature of the painting entitled ‘To the temple’ is that it is given a 3D effect with embossing. Ramchand draws inspiration from his guru Antyakula Paidiraju in doing this masterpiece.
He uses rainbow colours in the seven paintings.
His love for the city is depicted in ‘the treasure of Visakha’.
The four-piece painting is a reflection of the ingenuity of the artist. It can be displayed on the wall as a single piece or even used separately as individual paintings.
‘Navarasa’
His collage titled ‘Neti Bharatam’ (Today’s India) is a reflection of the prevailing circumstances in India. ‘Navarasa’, a painting with embossing work, depicts the nine different feelings of man.
In all, there are 80 paintings on display.
Exhibition
The gallery will be inaugurated on Friday. An exhibition will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
