Rs. 14.84 lakh given to 469 women

THANJAVUR: Chairperson of Thanjavur Municipality Thenmozhi Jayabal handed over cheques under Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy scheme for pregnant women here on Thursday.

Cheques worth Rs. 14.84 lakh were handed over to 469 women.

Under the Central Government scheme of Janani Suraksha Yojana, a sum of Rs. 35,900 was given to 59 poor women.

The Chairperson said that the State Government had allotted Rs. 10 lakh as second instalment under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy scheme. That will also be distributed soon.
